Step-by-step instructions on how to convert our PowerPoint research poster templates to Google Slides
If you know how to use PowerPoint but don't have it installed on your computer Google Slides offers a great alternative solution. It works just like PowerPoint and includes all the tools needed to make a professional-looking research poster presentation.
Before you start:
If you don't already have one, you will need to create a Google account. To make a new Google account, go to this page: https://accounts.google.com/SignUp
Once you have your Google account set up, follow the steps below to import your template into Google Slides.
Click on the Research Poster Templates link on the top of the page to see our collections of research poster templates. Once you go to the templates page, find the template you are looking for and click on the thumbnail to download it. The downloaded file will appear on the bottom left corner of your browser. Next, click on Show in folder (or equivalent) to locate it on your computer.
Be sure to be logged in to your Google account before you proceed. If you are logged in, you will see your name in the upper right corner of the browser. In the Google search bar, type Google Drive. Next, click on the Google Drive link to open Google Drive. Once you are in Google Drive, drag and drop the template, you downloaded onto the browser window to upload your template.
Once your poster template has been transferred to Google Drive (as confirmed at the bottom right), you will see its thumbnail in the browser window. Right-Click on the thumbnail, click on Open with, and select Google Slides. After a moment or so, the template will open in Google Slides.
