ABSTRACT:
A desired distinction for most faith-based graduate counseling programs is comprehensive faith integration across the curriculum, training the whole person of the counselor to effectively conceptualize life and practice through a biblical worldview lens. While faith-based graduate programs aim to produce integrated and integrative students, the capacity for effective integration instruction lies in the educational training and capacity of the faculty. This study sought to identify preferred qualities and qualifications of new faculty hires from the perspective of hiring faculty at faith-based graduate counseling programs. As a result, the responses will inform the characteristics of doctoral programs in Counselor Education and Supervision necessary to produce such graduates.
